Robin Gibb 'recovering from emergency stomach surgery'
    Toronto Telegraph

    (ANI)

Singer Robin Gibb is said to be recovering from his recent emergency stomach surgery.

The Bee Gees star had undergone emergency surgery after suffering excruciating intestinal pains.

According to the Daily Mail, Gibb was rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, not far from his 12th century mansion in Thame, Oxfordshire, last week.

"Robin's consultant has recommended complete rest in order to speed his recovery," the Courier Mail quoted his rep as saying.

Family and friends feared the 'Stayin' Alive' singer might have the same health condition that unexpectedly killed his twin brother Maurice when he fell ill last month.

Maurice Gibb, 53, died from a heart attack in 2003 during surgery for a twisted intestine.

The Bee Gees temporarily retired after 45 years of entertaining after his death. (ANI)
