French strike affects European air carriers
    Toronto Telegraph
    Thursday 9th September, 2010

Many European airlines have had to cancel their own flights due to the Air France strike.

Ryanair and Aer Lingus cancelled a number of flights because of the national strike in France, which was caused by pension measures being undertaken by the French government.

Public transport, schools, telecommunications, public services and especially airlines were affected by the disruption.

Ryanair said many of its flights had to be halted on Wednesday with numerous cancellations to and from French airports.
